Even quieter backroads will carry us onward from there through undulating hills into the border town of Green Spring.

Refreshment Stop - Green Spring - Details TBA

West Virginia is going out in style, with two last rounds of hospitality! Green Spring has a much-appreciated rest stop for ADT travelers, and we'll follow suit by taking a break there. And then, the Potomac River is right around the corner, as is the Oldtown Toll Bridge and the eponymous community.

While we'll be sad to bid farewell to West Virginia, Maryland brings us the C&O Canal Towpath, a marvelous trail that we'll be following all the way to the edge of DC. We'll just get a first taste of it today, riding with the canal separating us from the Potomac, until we reach the Paw Paw Tunnel Trailhead. The town of Paw Paw, West Virginia requires just a short trip back over the river, and that may well be worth it for a hard-earned, post-hike meal. Unless, of course, those two refreshment stops have left you satiated!

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Fort Ashby (13.7 miles), Green Spring (24.4 miles), and Town Creek Campsite (30 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. Food may be available for purchase in Fort Ashby.
