Start Information:

The day begins in Milford at the Milford Trailhead.

End Information:

The stage concludes in Williamsburg at Williamsburg Community Park.

Details:

The ADT follows the Buckeye Trail throughout much of its trajectory across Ohio, and that only scratches the surface of the amazing 1444-mile network that loops around the state. That said, as the Buckeye Trail is geared towards foot traffic, and often utilizes trails that don't permit bikes, and we're pushing a fast pace, there are places where we'll need to briefly diverge from the BT in order to cover more ground.

Today is a case in point. The opening half of the stage to Batavia is straight-forward enough, as the urban sprawl from Cincinnati-Milford necessitates more miles spent on pavement. You can follow the blue blazes all the way through, and then take a proper break in downtown Batavia.

Once the Buckeye Trail / ADT reaches East Fork State Park, though, we'll need to split over to the ADT bike alternative. With unlimited time, we would be very pleased to make the long walk around the south side of William H Harsha Lake, but that adds a lot of miles of hiking time. Instead, our cyclists can look forward to an easy roll along the north side, heading directly to Williamsburg.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Round Bottom Road (5.9 miles), Batavia (12.6 miles), and East Fork State Park Campground (20.9 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. Food may be available for purchase near Round Bottom Road, as well as in Batavia and Afton.

Take Heed: The route today primarily follows paved roads with auto traffic and limited shoulders.
