The day begins at High Knob Campground.

The stage concludes at Riverbend Park in Mount Vernon, Indiana.

Some minor re-routing will likely be needed, to accommodate bikes on this long day, given trail restrictions. Easy enough, though, and before long the River-to-River Trail will be behind us, and the northern push to Indiana begins in earnest. After so many trail-bound days, it's going to be an adjustment, getting back to pavement for most of this stage, but most of the morning will be spent on very lightly-used backroads, leading into Shawneetown for a well-earned break.

Rejuvenated by the kind hospitality in Shawneetown, we'll keep working our way northward, until finally turning east onto Illinois Route 141, the busiest road of the day thus far. This will bring us through the small town of New Haven and then over the Wabash River into Indiana. We'll escape the highway soon after, transitioning to backroads south of it. Eventually, that eastward progression will allow us to complete the River-to-River in spirit, if not to the letter of the route, by reaching the Ohio River just before arriving in Mount Vernon.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Pounds Hollow (6.6 miles), Shawneetown (19.2 miles), Asbury Church (30.8 miles), and Indiana border (41.8 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. 

Take Heed: Outside of Shawneetown, don't expect to have opportunities to purchase food on this stage.
