Details:

As if yesterday's party at Cedar Lake wasn't enough, Cedar Rapids isn't done with us yet! We'll kick off this stage in high fashion:

Event - Cedar Rapids - Send-off at Mount Trashmore near the new Alliant Energy LightLine™ (a new trail bridge). 8:00 am. ConnectCR and Solid Waste Agency will host this low-key event to showcase the new pedestrian bridge that is scheduled to open this fall. Bridge update and light refreshments.

**Weather permitting, the send-off will be located either near the new bridge or in the 948' building at the base of Mount Trashmore, if it's cold and/or rainy.**

After taking advantage of the bright and shiny new bridge, we resume our ride on the Cedar River Trail, this becomes the Cedar Valley Nature Trail as it forks away from the river, pushing southward through Ely and out of Linn County. From there, the Hoover Nature Trail running alongside Ely Rd brings us south to a trail that winds around Lake MacBride--a delightful route leading into Solon. There's a trail angel waiting for us just ahead, in neighboring Morse.

Refreshment Stop - Morse - Jiyu American Wagyu - Kyle and Sarah will have a cooler of drinks out for participants on 280th Street NE, 0.3 miles east of the trail. Stop in say hi, if you like, and you can also call or text (319) 330-3066 and they will help with anything they can. Camping is also available, if need be.

Kyle is a great friend to travelers on the ADT and we're very appreciative of this stopover. Thank you, Kyle and Sarah! We pick up the Herbert Hoover Nature Trail soon after, the first sign of where we're headed, deep into the heart of Hoover country. West Branch, Herbert's birth place, today preserves his childhood home and also his presidential library. Following a round of renovations, the library will have just reopened prior to our arrival, so be sure to plan a visit!

Support: A support vehicle will be available for assistance throughout the day.
