The day begins at Greene Square Park, near the American Discovery Trail mural, in Cedar Rapids.

End Information:

The stage concludes at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch.

As if yesterday's party at Cedar Lake wasn't enough, Cedar Rapids isn't done with us yet! We'll kick off this stage in high fashion:

After taking advantage of the bright and shiny new bridge, we resume our ride on the Cedar River Trail, paying homage to Mt. Trashmore along the way. This becomes the Cedar Valley Nature Trail as it forks away from the river, pushing southward through Ely and out of Linn County. From there, a bike track along Ely Rd brings us south to a trail that winds around Lake MacBride--a delightful route leading into Solon. There's a trail angel waiting for us just ahead, in neighboring Morse.

Kyle is a great friend to travelers on the ADT and we're very appreciative of this stopover. We pick up the Herbert Hoover Nature Trail soon after, the first sign of where we're headed, deep into the heart of Hoover country. West Branch, Herbert's birth place, today preserves his childhood home and also his presidential library. Following a round of renovations, the library will have just reopened prior to our arrival, so be sure to plan a visit!
