The day begins in southern Kansas City at the Trailside Center. Parking is available at East 99th St and Holmes Road.

The stage concludes in Sedalia at the Katy Depot.

After one last stretch along the Indian Creek, the morning marks a transition from one really good trail network to a great one, as you navigate along sometimes-busy suburban roads before reaching the Rock Island Trail just northwest of Lee's Summit. That's not the end of your time on roads with auto traffic, as there's a sizable gap in the Rock Island from south of Lee's Summit to Avon. Fortunately, though, by the time the relay reaches Pleasant Hill a brand new bridge will have closed off one gap, extending the trail a little further.

From Pleasant Hill to Windsor, you're on the Rock Island the whole way. Once in town, take the short spur trail to our friends at the campground.

from there, you'll transition over to the Katy Trail and pedal straight on to Sedalia, for yet another warm welcome.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Hartman Park (14.9 miles), Pleasant Hill (30.6 miles), Chilhowee Trailhead (59 miles), and Windsor - Katy Rock Junction Campground (77.4 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. Restrooms available at Hartman Park and Katy Rock Junction Campground; porta potty at Chilhowee.

Take Heed: You'll be on mixed-use roads for the first 11 miles. After that, though, it's mostly the Rock Island the rest of the way.
