NOTE: route updated in Omaha on 9/21

The first mile or two to the Bob Kerrey bridge is poorly documented, the GPX file is correct but the turns for the TBT are unknown. Bicycles are not normally allowed on Riverfront Park trails but permission has been gained for us by Nebraska Trailblazers. Follow the GPX to find your way to the bridge.

It's a long stage today, but we'll take our time this morning, as a state border crossing is always worth savoring. That's especially true when the border is a river, and the crossing involves a marvelous pedestrian bridge--as is the case with "The Bob" over the Missouri River. This brings us swiftly not only into Iowa but also Council Bluffs, as the trail navigates through the city's expansive riverside park complex.

Aside from a U-shaped loop around Lake Manawa, the bulk of the stage proceeds steadily southeastward from there, following the pleasant Wabash Trace Nature Trail through Mineola and Silver City, en route to Malvern. The ADT then turns eastward, following a mix of dirt and paved roads to the finish line in Red Oak.

Support: A support vehicle will be available for assistance throughout the day.

Take Heed: Bicycles are not normally allowed on Riverfront Park Trails, we are using them by permission gained through Nebraska Trailblazers.
