The day begins at The RiverFront in downtown Omaha.

The stage concludes at Red Oak Trails Trailhead in Red Oak, Iowa

It's a long stage today, but we'll take our time this morning, as a state border crossing is always worth savoring. That's especially true when the border is a river, and the crossing involves a marvelous pedestrian bridge--as is the case with "The Bob" over the Missouri River. This brings us swiftly not only into Iowa but also Council Bluffs, as the trail navigates through the city's expansive riverside park complex.

Aside from a U-shaped loop around Lake Manawa, the bulk of the stage proceeds steadily southeastward from there, following the pleasant Wabash Trace Nature Trail through Mineola and Silver City, en route to Malvern. The ADT then turns eastward, following a mix of dirt and paved roads to the finish line in Red Oak.
