The day begins on the western outskirts of Lincoln at West Lincoln Park.

The stage concludes on the eastern outskirts of Lincoln at the GSK Consumer Health Inc Trailhead.

After yesterday's long-haul ride, today's stage is a delightful change of pace, traveling across the lovely city of Lincoln. The opening miles are the least appealing part, but once you cross Salt Creek the fun begins. Plunge southward on the Levee Trail, loop over the busy railroad crossing, and then stroll through the old town past the train station. The ADT moves eastward, just south of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, before turning south to the state capitol.

After a little more urban walking, the ADT doubles back to the north on the Billy Wolff Trail, enjoying an extended stretch through a narrow greenspace, passing now along the eastside of the university. It's really worth a detour if you have the time; 50,000 Huskers can't be wrong! A few short blocks back on city streets are all it takes to transition from the Billy Wolff to the Mopac Trail, which will carry us through both today and most of tomorrow. The last section of this stage pushes eastward to the far side of Lincoln, concluding just before the urban area gives way to agriculture.
