The day begins at Fort Kearny State Historical Park.

The stage concludes just south of Central City at the Dark Island Trailhead.

We're going to encounter something remarkable on this stage: towns! It has been a while since we ran into one of those on the ADT in Nebraska. Still, it'll take some work to get there, as we navigate the grid system as the Platte River drifts northeastward. This is another day that involves a mix of quiet paved roads and solid dirt tracks, flanked by sprawling cornfields. Modest Prosser offers a first taste of urbanization, leading into sandhill crane country, though we're well past the season when the voluble birds migrate through here. Finally, the ADT delivers us into Doniphan, a small town that will feel like a veritable metropolis.

Refreshment Stop - Doniphan - United Methodist Church - water, snacks, and sloppy joes will be provided for relay participants. 

It's a straight shot eastward along W 6th Rd to Giltner, followed by a northward push across I80, before turning eastward again on U.S. 34. This leads to the northwestern corner of Aurora, and you may well be tempted to make a detour further into the town center to grab a bite. The stage concludes with a longer northward ride, ending with a short stretch on the Dark Island Trail, concluding on the south side of the Platte, on the outskirts of Central City.
