The day begins at the Overland Trail Museum in Sterling.

End Information:

The stage concludes at the Colorado Welcome Center in Julesburg.

Details:

The relay loops through the center of Sterling this morning. After that, it's basically a straight line. Imagine that you're in a time trial in the Tour de France. Lower your head and pedal away as you follow U.S. Route 138, passing through Iliff and Crook. You can enjoy a short break from 138 after Crook, though this parallel track is only separated from the highway by the thinnest of measures. You'll be back on 138, though, as you head into Sedgwick, which has a little more going on than those preceding communities.

Finally, Ovid brings great changes, as you'll turn southward in that small town, crossing back over the Platte, and then making the last push to the outskirts of Julesburg, where the stage concludes at the Colorado Welcome Center. Nebraska is just ahead!
