---

After looping past the lake, the ADT continues southward on the New Santa Fe Trail. In theory, we would spend most of the remainder of the day on this pedestrian and bike track, passing through the town of Monument and around the Air Force Academy along the way. Unfortunately, the NSFT is currently closed around the academy because of the ongoing war, so some re-routing may be required. Eventually, though, a series of trails carry us from the NSFT in northern Colorado Springs to Garden of the Gods, a National Natural Landmark.

We'll walk through the garden, past a series of remarkable geological highlights, and finishing at one of the park's most famous features, the Balanced Rock formation.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Palmer Lake (9.5 miles), Monument (12.7 miles), and Edmondson Trailhead (26.3 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. Food may be available for purchase in Palmer Lake and Monument.
