The stage concludes at the Colorado Trail Camp Hale TH.

Details:

We might be heading east in this relay, but departure from Leadville involves a wide, westward arc, moving along the north shore of Lake Turquoise before following the Colorado Trail / Continental Divide Trail northward into the Holy Cross Wilderness. The trail briefly comes alongside US 24 at Tennessee Pass, and then crosses the highway a few miles later, continuing northward. After crossing Jones Gulch Rd, the trail curves northeastward before turning due east on E Fork Eagle Rd. The stage concludes soon after at the Camp Hale Trailhead.

Note that bicycles are not permitted in Holy Cross Wilderness.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Tabor Campground (5.1 miles), Timberline Trailhead (10.3 miles), Wurtz Ditch Rd (20.5 miles), and US 24 crossing (26.6 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. 

Take Heed: It is not possible to purchase food at any point in this stage after Leadville, we will be happy to carry your supplies.
