The stage concludes on County Road 742, near the confluence of Red Mountain Creek and Taylor River

Heading east from Crested Butte, you'll follow McCormick Ranch Rd to Tony's Trail. You'll loop through a series of small mountain developments, passing Lake Grant, the Crested Butte Airport, and then joining County Road 738. Continue climbing to the hills, roughly following Brush Creek, until topping out on Crystal Peak at 12297 feet. Brush Creek Trail becomes Taylor Trail around this point, and passes along the southern slops of Star Peak and Taylor Peak before looping around Taylor Lake. From there, the hard work is behind you, and it's forest roads all the way to Red Mountain Dr.

Support: A support vehicle will be accessible at Brush Creek Trailhead (5.7 miles), Tent Creek Trailhead (9 miles), and Bowman Creek Trailhead (27.8 miles). Water will be available to top off bottles, along with all necessary participant gear. 

Take Heed: This is a high-level mountain crossing and no support will be possible between Tent Creek Trailhead and Bowman Creek.
