We will depart from the intersection of State Route 487 & Carson St in Baker

Because this will probably be a hot and windy day, we will be departing early in the morning, well before sunrise. There will be a brief pause to celebrate the crossing from Nevada to Utah a few miles from the start.

Given the early departure relayers may want to be in Baker the night before, we will meet for dinner in town. Early arrivals could take the opportunity to visit Great Basin National Park and the famous Lehmann Caves (check whether reservations are needed for the caves).

The day ends at the Wah Wah Ranch at Utah SR21. The residents at this very remote ranch are aware of the ADT which goes right through the middle of their housing area on a county road. They have been very kind to a number of ADT travelers, please treat them with respect.

A ride will be available back to Baker at the end of the day, including bicycle transport.

The route between Baker and the Wah Wah ranch starts on a paved road but after the first few miles is all gravel and packed sand roads without any major elevation changes. Along the way we will pass Crystal Peak, an interesting geological anomoly. It's quite likely that we will see pronghorn antelope.

There will be a support vehicle with water and supplies checking on the particpants all day.
