From the Limantour Beach Main Parking Lot, follow the short trail to Limantour Beach, where we'll gather for the American Discovery 250 Relay kick-off!

The stage ends at the Five Brooks Trailhead. which is about 1000ft east on the connector trail.

The first half of this great hike runs roughly along the coast, following the aptly-named Coast Trail. After that, get ready, because you've got a solid climb ahead, moving through the Phillip Burton Wilderness around the south side of Firtop peak, topping out just over 1100 feet. And then, in the last three miles, you'll give back 800 of those hard-earned feet of elevation, in a final descent to the parking lot.

Important: Bring enough food and water to get you through the entirety of the hike. No water is available at any point, including at the trailhead. Don't expect access to toilets along the way, beyond pit toilets at the trailhead. As this is a wilderness area, we will not be able to bring the support vehicle within range of the group. The only access points are the very beginning and the very end.

Good news! There are no parking or entrance fees for Point Reyes National Seashore or the lots at the start / endpoints.
